Paul Alan Mohamed, LLB (Hons), Post Grad LPC, Licensed Players’ Agent.
It was his career as a Solicitor specializing in Criminal Advocacy, Litigation and Sports Law, together with his close friendship with GSD Chairman Steve Day that led Cardiff born Paul Mohamed to move into the sports management industry. It was a smooth transition for the graduate with a 2:1 degree in law who qualified as a Solicitor in 1998, given his legal background and strong advocacy and negotiation skills. During his legal career Paul has represented numerous Premiership & Championship clubs, players, and Football Associations alike advising on disciplinary and sports regulatory issues as well as appearing in front of home office work permit and sports disciplinary tribunals.
Paul is a Licensed Players’ Agent the first ever to be registered with the Football Association of Wales in 2007, and one of only a handful of FIFA agents in the UK who are also qualified Solicitors. Paul has negotiated contracts for clubs and players both home and abroad, utilizing his legal skills to good effect. Drafting, negotiation and consideration of contracts is an art form which requires a sharp mind given the importance of the issue to a client. This is a skill which Paul masters as a result of his quick legal brain and the ability to think on his feet due to years of appearing before Courts, Judges and professional tribunals. Paul thrives in the environment of a court room, board room or room at the training ground and this means he can give his client the best possible service, particularly when it comes to negotiating that all important contract.
Paul’s role at GSD is to ensure our senior & professional clients receive the best possible advice off the pitch in respect of contractual, disciplinary, commercial and legal matters allowing them to concentrate on their playing careers. Paul works closely with Steve Day and Mark Germain to ensure all clients have the best possible team of advisors on hand whenever they are needed. Outside of his GSD duties Paul also acts as a Management and Business Consultant advising companies on various issues including the negotiation of commercial contracts all over the world.
Away from his work and his love of football, Paul is a keen cricketer following Glamorgan and England regularly attending their matches. His real passion however, apart from his wife and young daughter of course, is fast cars .In fact it is Paul’s ambition, when time allows (and his wife agrees!!), to visit every F1 grand prix circuit in the world!!
